Thank You!

How It Works

Thank you for choosing to play Maid in Chelsea, a Murder Mystery set in the heart of West London.

If you have received your reservation confirmation please go directly to event links and login to your personalised website. Here you will find information on your specific night including what to wear, character details, venue details and your balance/how to pay. This area will be available from up to 2 working days after booking confirmation and up until 2 weeks after your event.  If your event is not below please drop us an email via the contact page.

Menus will be provided for pre-orders at least a week before the event. For those having their event at the Gore, please contact us immediately if there are any allergies or dietary requirements, before the menu is released. Apologies to our Muslim and Jewish friends as we cannot guarantee the kitchen to be strict halal or kosher friendly.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please be aware that there is alcohol available at an extra cost, however anyone seen to be acting foolishly or overly intoxicated will be removed from the premises. All physical puzzles are safe and should not cause harm however incorrect use of them could cause injury. Obviously we do not want that to happen so please treat them with respect. This goes for all items found on the premises belonging to the venues. The Gore is a very old building with antique items which should be treated with the utmost respect. If the Rolling Stones can, so can you.

Booked Events

Each of your guests will be emailed their own personal link to their character's webpage. There they will find information about who they are, their back-story, their weapon, where they were found when the police arrived and of course what to wear.

As a host you will be asked to pick who you would like to play which character as you will know your guests the best. You will also be asked to pick which game we play, each game having a different murderer and different storyline so you can come back and play again!

On the night all guests will be given their information pack and some time to greet one another and chat. From this point onwards until the game is over guests should transform into their character. It's just more fun that way. Aside from your basic bio, location, weapon and secret, you may enhance and create more of your character's story in any way you wish, as long as you keep those basic pieces of information true.

To discover;

Opportunity -

Ask around and find out if your suspect was found close enough to Louisa's body to have committed such a brutal act.

Motive -

Open up the locked boxes to reveal some evidence relating to certain guests. Try and work out whom they may be referring to as this may give you the motive you have been looking for. Watch out for red herrings though, not all the evidence will point to the same person. Use the time whilst not at the puzzles to chat to people about the evidence you have found.

Means -

Once you have opened all the boxes you should be able to open the briefcase which contains the Coroner's report. This will tell you how the maid was killed. The weapons are separated into three categories; Blunt Force Trauma, Ingestion and Entry Wounds. Then it's up to you to discover who has a weapon that would fit into that category. Some may fit into two, however it is usually the most obvious use that is the case. If in doubt please ask the detective.

When you have your suspect, means, motive and opportunity quickly write them down and hand them in to your detective. Everyone who gets the answers correct will win a prize but there is a special prize for the group who gets the answer right and to the detective first.

The game will last approximately 2-4 hours depending on the number of teams. You are given time limits and when the detective says 'time is up' you must stop whatever you are doing and listen to the detective. When the game is over and the accusations are in, the detective will announce who has won and hand out any prizes to be given.
